Day 1 & 2: Also known as the longest day of my life

The purpose of this blog is for me to be honest, so honestly? I miss my friends and family like crazy. It just sort of hit me that I won't be able to see any of you for almost four months and it just kind of sucks. All of you know that I never cry, but I came in and sat at my computer and just cried for 10 minutes. I love you guys.

Alright, now that the sad, homesick stuff is out of the way, I'd like to show off my new apartment (at least a little bit). These are just a few pictures (not the best quality because I was trying to be quick), but more/better photos will be up soon :)
Here's my bedroom. I share with one other girl, but there are three bedrooms total. This one has the most natural light, so I chose it :)

This is our little kitchen area we have. Kind of tiny, but it works.

This is the living room. I'm currently sitting on the couch typing this :)

Another dining table.

Really crappy picture out of my front window.

Across from my apartment

This is the hall when you walk into our place (that's the door passed the chair on the right). All the way down the hall is my room, but on the way you have 2 other bedrooms, two bathrooms, the kitchen, and the laundry room.

Bathroom one.

Bathroom two.

So yeah, that's really all I have right now. Orientation is tomorrow morning at 11:30, so I have a little time to sleep in. It's hot, but we have fans in our rooms, so it makes it a little bit better. Hopefully the homesickness will go away soon and I'll start really having fun. Pictures of the Basilica di Santa Croce and the Duomo will be up in the next few days after I go. Ciao!

Day 0: Time to Pack

You know that feeling, a mixture between anxiousness and excitement, that comes before every trip? Yeah, I have that right now. I should be packing, but I'm reading through e-mails from the school making sure I have everything I need, and the more I read the more nervous I get. I'm supposed to have a few things printed off that I haven't yet. I'm a bit frustrated because I've been running around all day trying to get last minute things, so I never got the chance to check my e-mail and now I can't print out some of the stuff.

I hope one of my roommates has a printer and is nice enough to let me use it. That would be great.

Anyway, stressed out as always, but I think it's going to be a great trip and a great experience. Pictures will be posted all the time, I'm sure, and I'll try and update this as often as possible to keep everyone informed about what I'm doing.

For now, though, I should probably pack.
